On 09.06.2023. the Erasmus+ team from “ŽarkoZrenjanin” Elementary School organized a Round Table on the topic “Implementation of innovative methodologies, digital storytelling and CLIL in teaching”. 36 participants from various primary and secondary schools from Novi Sad and its surroundings, as well as representatives of private schools, the School Administration, the City Administration for Education, the faculty and IT companies attended this event.

The Roundtable was organized within the Erasmus+ project 21st century skills and CLIL for learning about Cultural heritage with the aim of informing the public and involved stakeholders (decision makers) about the results of the project. The panelists on this topic were Mirjana Tunguz (Computer science teacher), Milana Rangelov (English teacher) and Aleksandra Spasić (Civic education teacher), as well as educational advisor VesnaRadulović, who  gave an introductory presentation on educational aspects of innovative methods.

The teachers presented the timeline of civic classes and digital stories about the life and work of MilevaMarić Einstein, which were produced by students of the 8th grade of ŽarkoZrenjanin Elementary School. These productscan be viewed on the project website https://clil4ch.com/intellectual-outputs / including the method of implementing CLIL classes with 7th grade students on six different topics within the central topic Gender equality in education and women in science. The topics included: Gender roles and stereotypes, Why aren’t there more women in STEM, Famous women of Novi Sad, Women in science, Nobel for Mileva and Women in Science then and now. The teachers presented materials used in the classes along with the research tasks of the 7thgrade students who participated in these English language and Civic education classes. All of the materials are available in detail in the “Teacher’s etextbook” which contains preparation for the classes and the methodology of teachers from three countriesparticipants in the project- Serbia, Italy and Romania. Also, video tutorials for teachers and students on the topic of How to make digital stories, an electronic book and upload them to Google Classroom, as well as the challenges of using digital tools in teaching innovation were presented.

After the presentation of the panelists, a discussion was started, in which all the participants were free to ask questions, discuss and propose examples of good practice that can help in the implementation of active teaching and greater involvement of students in the teaching process through collaborative work, development of communication skills, encouraging students’ internal motivation and creativity .

The participants evaluated the Round Table through the digital tool “Mentimeter” and participated in an interactive game on the Blooket platform, where they answered questions related to the content of the presentations. After the awarding of the professional training certificate, a buffetwas held for the participants.
